Obesity is a medical condition, and we need treatment from a medical team. The current concept of calorie-restricted diet and exercise does not address the underlying cause and cause recurrent weight gain.
The MediFit Medical Weight Loss program focuses on reversing the origins of obesity through healthy eating, exercise, and lifestyle as a medication, under medical supervision. The end result is a permanent change in obesity and an obvious improvement in health. A complete team of doctors, nutritionists, fitness experts and lifestyle experts monitor you throughout the program to provide a complete one-stop solution for weight loss recovery.

How We Do It
Getting Started! Once the assessments are complete, you will be issued a plan of action that has to be followed.
A dedicated WhatsApp will be created for you (your family members can be added if necessary). You will have to post images of your food plates, and exercise (post-workout selfie or any equivalent) on a daily basis. Any changes suggested have to be incorporated. The team will interact with you on audio/video calls on a weekly basis to assess your compliance. The calls will be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time. The review calls also are for education, motivation, and troubleshooting, hence an essential part of the program. You will be asked to provide details of body composition, measurements, and images of your progress on a weekly basis via a google form.
The medical team will apprise you about your health every 4 to 6 weeks depending upon the program. The team may ask you to repeat the laboratory investigations that were abnormal previously. Additional tests may be ordered, if necessary. Since this is a medical program, the tests are mandatory.
The nutrition team will interact with you on a weekly basis to assess your compliance with the nutrition plan. Any deviations have to be reported, and the changes in the upcoming weeks will be discussed.
The fitness team assesses your progress in fitness parameters from time to time. Although the team will interact with you once every 2 weeks, the assessment happens once every 6 weeks.
Once you have achieved your goal, you will be transferred from an ACTIVE to a MAINTENANCE program. The maintenance program is less intense, and the interaction is on a monthly basis. This is to prevent you from falling off the bandwagon and having a relapse.
You need a body composition scale, a food weighing scale, a measuring tape, and measuring cups to begin your program. If you are a diabetic, you will need a glucose monitor, and if you are hypertensive, you will need a blood pressure monitor. The team will assist you in choosing the equipment.
The list of investigations will be provided to you once you begin the program. You will have a week's time to get those done. Prior to the medical review, you need to repeat the ones which have previously been abnormal.
There are no pills or powders sold in the program. The medical team may prescribe or alter the existing medications that you may be taking as per the medical conditions that you may have.
If you are a non-vegetarian, there is no need for any supplements as such. However, if you are a vegan or a vegetarian, you might be prescribed supplements to fulfill your protein and multivitamin requirements.
Although the goal is to reverse your medical condition and stop medications, it does not happen immediately. As you progress in the program, the medicines will be tapered and ultimately discontinued as decided by the medical team.
The duration of the program depends on the outcome of the medical review and will be decided by the medical team. The longer the duration of your medical condition, the longer the duration of your program to achieve your goals.
The programs are designed to be delivered online, so geography is not a limiting factor. The calls will be scheduled based on the time-zone difference at a mutually agreeable time.
